:::About the Conference:::

            Emerging Technology >>

  Software companies are faced with rapid change, heightened global competition, and an increasing need for improvements to cycle time, cost, and quality. Software Process Simulation is an emerging technology that can help cope effectively with these challenges. Software Process Simulation is being applied to the management of software projects, product life cycles, and organizations, in areas such as planning, tracking, staffing policies, resource allocation, analysis of feedback loops, as well as the evaluation of process changes.

            Presenting the Latest Advances >>

  The Software Process Simulation Modeling (ProSim '03) workshop will bring both researchers and practitioners together in order to jointly explore the benefits of, and issues involved in, Software Process Simulation. The workshop is a forum for presenting the latest advances in this field, promoting the open interchange of ideas, and exploring potentials for collaborative work.

            Focus on Application >>

  ProSim 2003 workshop will focus on the application of software process simulation research in addressing real-world problems, as well as advances being made which will provide the foundation for Software Process and Software Process Simulation Modeling in the future. Technical presentations will address a variety of approaches including the application of discrete event, System Dynamics, knowledge-based systems, State-based modeling, petri-nets, and other approaches.

            Workshop Setting Facilitates Interaction >>

ProSim '03 will be held at Portland State University, a nationally acclaimed leader in community-based learning, located along the tree-lined South Park Blocks of downtown Portland.

The conference will be held at the School of Business Administration (SBA) in room 290. The SBA building is located at 631 S.W. Harrison on the east side of Broadway, in Portland Oregon.
